RTS Link

The Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link is moving into operational readiness. On 18 August, Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Loke said fares and key operational dates would be announced jointly by the transport authorities of Malaysia and Singapore. No final fare has been officially announced, so any specific price currently circulating should not be treated as confirmed.
Passengers will still be able to use regular passports for immigration clearance. QR codes will be an additional option, not the only method. Contingency procedures for digital-system disruptions fall under Malaysia’s border-control and immigration authorities.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport describes the RTS Link as an approximately four-kilometre connection between Bukit Chagar and Woodlands North. Its planned peak capacity is up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction, with service targeted for the end of 2026.
What could this mean for Johor Bahru property?
The RTS Link may reshape cross-border commuting, but it does not guarantee uniform price growth for every nearby property. Buyers should still compare walking distance, feeder transport, maintenance fees, rental demand, future supply and entry price. The eventual fare announcement will make commuter affordability easier to assess.
